Our Project

Our educational project pays attention to three branches that are fundamental considering the charism of our institution and the neighborhood in which we live:

The education we offer has as main objective to allow each student to discover their full potential and learn to develop it, working for each of the Multiple Intelligences. The development of these intelligences allows us to favor that our students acquire the key competences established by the Government of Spain in the Education Law in force today. And this point is essential, since it is not enough for our students to acquire some knowledge. We want tomorrow to be competent people in all areas that allow them to develop personally and professionally in whatever they choose. These competences are the following:
Competence in linguistic communication: It refers to the ability to use the language, express ideas and interact with others orally or in writing.
Mathematical competence and basic competences in science and technology. The first refers to the abilities to apply mathematical reasoning to solve questions of everyday life; The competition in science focuses on the skills to use scientific knowledge and methodology to explain the reality around us; and technological competence, in how to apply this knowledge and methods to respond to human desires and needs.
Digital competence. It involves the safe and critical use of ICTs to obtain, analyze, produce and exchange information.
Learning to learn. It is one of the main competences, since it implies that the student develops his capacity to start learning and persist in it, organize his tasks and time, and work individually or collaboratively to achieve a goal.
Social and civic competences. They refer to the capacities to interact with people and participate in an active, participatory and democratic way in social and civic life.
Sense of initiative and entrepreneurial spirit. It implies the skills necessary to turn ideas into actions, such as creativity or the ability to take risks and plan and manage projects.
Awareness and cultural expressions. It refers to the ability to appreciate the importance of expression through music, plastic and performing arts or literature.
To make all this possible and taking into account the diversity that exists in our center, we have spent years immersed in a methodological change that allows us to approach the needs of each student to maximize their growth in all its dimensions.

Educativa Innovation

Not only does it seem fundamental, but we love to carry it out. The methodological change goes through a large number of techniques that are allowing us to turn our classes around and change the way we understand education and classrooms. Some of the methodologies we follow are:
Cooperative learning
Roles
Gamification
Work for projects
Problem Based Projects
Routines and Thinking Skills
Work with rubrics
Virtualization using Chromebooks

    Arts Program

We understand that an essential part in the education of any person is art. Recognizing, enjoying and expressing oneself through art is a human dimension that has enriched our culture throughout history, and we feel the responsibility of transmitting it to our students. In this way, activities and events are developed in an academic and extracurricular way, among which are:
    Primary Musical (interdisciplinary project)
    Secondary Musical
    “Get excited” museum
    Mary Ward week
    Projects in different subjects
    Spaces for dance and music
Visits to museums, exhibitions and plays
Extracurricular activities of an artistic nature
In this way we want to facilitate a suggestive and motivating educational offer so that our students understand art in an integrated way throughout their educational experience.

    Bilingualism

That languages are increasingly fundamental in our lives is undeniable. Not only in a professional way, but to open doors in the formative, social and in everything related to leisure. Our school has been developing a bilingual education since the first year of Infant School since 2014/15 and is gradually being implemented in the rest of the courses. In this course, it is already developed in all courses up to 3rd grade. For this, we have conversation assistants in Infant and Primary, and certified teachers in the level of English necessary at each stage.

    Coexistence and mediation

We live in a center where working together is an aspect that we are especially interested in taking care of. Therefore, in addition to the work in tutorials and teacher-student relations (coordinated by the Guidance Department), we have Student Assistants who since 2017/18 are being trained and collaborating in the center within the Mediation program of the Madrid’s community. It is wonderful to see that there are a lot of students who volunteer to be those little heroes who act in hiding to work for everyone to be treated with respect. Bravo!
